I think it is actually going to happen. I think we are actually about to raise enough money to make our first month-long trip to Ethiopia (in either August or January).
We have raised $3,300 of the $5,500 that we need. Letters are going out now requesting donations to make up the remaining amount.
I write this with some fear. Intimidation might be a better word. I’m not afraid of the flight or of being overseas, I’m intimidated by the deep spirituality and the profound Christian character of the people we will be ministering to. I get nervous thinking about the quality of the people that I am supposedly going to “disciple”. They are much more advanced and equipped in discipleship and in disciple-making than I am. But I do have some historical and theological information to share with them, and, truly that is what I am being called there to do. So, with hat in hand…I go.
